Re: Eno River Outfall Phase II Sewer project (5011 N ROXBORO ST)
Dear Property Owner,
We have been unable to reach you by phone or mail after several attempts, and I am writing to inform
you that the City of Durham has plans to install a new sewer pipe in your area. The purpose of this sewer
installation to help handle additional sewer capacity.
In order to successfully install this pipe, the City will need to purchase from you a temporary construction
easement, a temporary access easement, and a permanent utility easement on your property. The
temporary construction easement and a temporary access easement is a temporary right for a
construction crew to use that portion of your property as they build the sewer system and will expire when
the project is complete. The permanent utility easement will remain an easement on that portion of your
property. You are to be compensated for both the permanent easement and the temporary use of your
land, based on the tax value of your land. I've included an Option to Purchase, that includes your total
compensation of $4,083.65.
Enclosed with this letter are the Option to Purchase and a W-9 form. I have highlighted where property
owner(s) will need to sign on both documents. The Option to Purchase reflects our offer of
compensation as noted above. The IRS requires the W-9 form. Please return the original documents to
me in the stamped envelope I have provided or scan the signed documents to me at the email address
listed below.
I have also enclosed a map showing the location of the easement(s) in relation to your property. If you
