Dear Vice Chancellor Battle,
On March 30, 2022, Molly Nicholson of the Raleigh Regional Office reviewed the 2021 Annual Report for permit
WQ0023896. The report was sent on February 7, 2022. The report was prepared by J. Laurence Daw, L.G.
According to the 2021 Annual report, Bingham Facility had no permit exceedances for the WWTP effluent or land
application.
The facility had multiple instances of groundwater permit exceedance for pH in MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, and MW-6.
Coliform was also observed in MW-3 and MW-4. Due to the exceedance of pH and the observation of coliform,
the facility should reaccess the limits of irrigation in the nearby irrigation field and continue groundwater
monitoring in accordance with the permit.
The facility generated no residuals in 2021 and therefore, did not have any records of residuals removed to
report.
The facility submitted reports of annual calibration data, annual soil analysis, and priority pollutant analysis.
There were no significant findings or changes noted in the report review and therefore, a response to this review
