Good morning Mike. As we discussed during a telephone call earlier this year, I have been
assisting the facility and the H&S/EHS personnel at the site with their Stormwater issues. I
understand that you performed a site visit this year and found several issues and sent an NOV
to the facility. I told Ashley Poe that I would prepare and send you a reply to the NOV That
provides information addressing corrections to the violations in the NOV.
In February 2022 I revised the written Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for the
site. I updated the plan with new permit information (including increasing the sampling
frequency to quarterly, adding COD to the sample parameters, etc) and new Pollution
Prevention Team contacts. I sent the plan to the new EHS manager (Ashley Poe) and she
printed it out and placed it in her plan binder along with a printout of the new permit.
On February 21, 2022 I visited the site, met with Ashley and the Plant Mgr, and performed a
site inspection and the required annual training on the updated SWPPP, the new permit, and
Stormwater management issues. We documented the training with a form she placed in her
binder.
Over the past two months We have been watching the weather to find a good day and time to
collect a representative Stormwater sample for the quarter. On March 9, 2022 Ashley collected
a sample from the outfall and completed the field SDO form and COC. I picked up the sample
and delivered it to the lab. I am awaiting the lab results (I should receive it next week) and will
then prepare a summary Stormwater sampling report including the DMR which will be signed
and sent to the state (you) via email.
We have performed the actions required by the permit and NOV and are continuing to
improve items at the site to keep facility in compliance. We will perform additional quarterly
inspections and Sampling as required and submit the appropriate reports. please email or call
Ashley or myself you need any more information or have any questions about this email or the
site. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Hope you have a nice weekend.
