Scoping Meeting Minutes for 17BP.8.R.62 (Br 366) held 08/1613
1. Let Date September 23, 2014.
2. SEPI responsible for Roadway Design, Bid Documents, Right of Way acquisition, Hydraulic
Design, Erosion Control, Permit Drawings and Traffic Control Plans.
3. DOT will be responsible for Structure Design, Structure General drawings, Geotechnical
Investigations, Speed Study, Surveying /Base Map Preparation, Utility Coordination and
Permit Application.
4. Per field review, minimum estimated bridge length is approximately 60' at a 900 skew.
Preliminary bridge layout is single -span, 24" PCCS. 2.5' caps are proposed to best tie back
in to the adjacent floodplain.
5. Anticipated bridge width is 30' out -to -out, but will likely be wider due to the horizontal curve
that is on the bridge.
6. Overhead and buried utilities crossing the creek were observed
7. Not on a bike route
8. Speed limit not posted, use 55 mph
9. Bridge is anticipated to be superelevated
10. Timber piles to be cut of at water surface elevation.
11. A Hazardous Spill Basin may not be required along this secondary road even though the
PDR indicated one may be required since the stream drains to a water supply intake. The
Division of Water Quality will verify if a Hazardous Spill Basin will be required.
