On February 16, 2022, staff from the Mooresville Regional Office (MRO) performed a site inspection of
the Remediation System at the General Electric Hickory Plant to determine compliance with remediation
activities as per permit #NC0076643. Enclosed is a copy of the inspection report.
At the time of the inspection, the system was online and performing at levels consistent with the active
permit for this facility. Laboratory data indicate the system is being effective in the reduction of the TCE
and TCA constituents. Continued monitoring of the system is recommended.

On February 16, 2022, MRO staff performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection for Permit
NC0076643 at the GE Hickory facility. The GW remediation system is the only part of the old facility
that still exists.
A review of the eDMR records for January 2021 through December 2021, indicates the system is
performing within specifications of the permit. The system effluent flow that is less than the permitted
flow.
Flowmeter calibration is current.
The Outfall was viewed during the site visit. No color, foam, solids, or odor were observed in the
outfall.
Saedacco was present during the site visit for the purpose of constructing 3 new recovery wells. The
new wells will be incorporated into the existing treatment system.

appear to be complete.
