I wanted to send a short note to follow up with a couple of initiatives that come out
of our meeting yesterday.
1) We identified November 8th as a possibility for our next meeting. Please reserve
this date to meet, likely at 10 AM. I thought I might try for the NC Zoo in Asheboro
this time. Please let me know if you have a conflict for that day or if you would
have a problem meeting in Asheboro.
2) A number of studies/documents were mentioned during the meeting, and it became
apparent that an inventory of studies/documents/initiatives would be helpful to
ensure that all parties have all the necessary information. I will be trying to do
this in the short term, hopefully by the end of next week. Please reply to me,
listing the documents/studies/materials that are relevant and should be distributed
to the group. These should be focused around the Heelsplitter mussel and should
include for example, the Mint Hill proposed ordinance, WRC CSI document, Mint Hill
maps showing key features, habitat designation documents, and others. I for sure
expect to hear back from Ron, Mark, and Todd and anyone else that has an input.
3) Your name and email address have been added to a listserve has been set up to
exchange information related to Goose Creek Mediation. You should have received a
"Hello" message explaining the listserve. I will use this listserve to distribute
information that I gather during the initiative mentioned above in item #2. You can
send a message of up to 2 Mbyte in size to the group by sending an email to the
