Comment I grew up in and near the Eno River and would be devastated emotionally to see the fight for the health of the river get even harder than it already is. The river not only supports and provides for SO MANY human needs, but it is obviously integral to all of the ecosystems that are literally built around and held together by the river and dependent on its water quality and health. If the water quality worsens (which WILL HAPPEN if this development goes through) there will be an extra strain on top of an already HEAVILY BURDENED ECOSYSTEM. Plant and animal life will be threatened, many communities that are built around and dependent on interacting with the water will fall apart, quality of life for residence who live near the river will go down, recreation draw and appeal for what a lot of people consider their favorite park/s will be lost, not to mention you'll break my heart and a lot of others who don't want to see the last tangible piece of local nature that keeps us sane be further polluted and disrespected. Something for you to think about, We are living in a world that is ever increasingly burdened by the growth of human population and structural development. We are living in a world that has been drastically altered and socially burdened by the recent pandemic (and experts say more will come). Many people with myself included depend on the eno river and it's parks to feel like we are not in a world of concrete that is increasingly doomed to wipe out every piece of green and blue there is left (that would be a normal non -pandemic day for a lot of people feeling the stress of a modern developing world.) But as you know we also are in and have been in a pandemic which has caused a MASSIVE drop in a lot of peoples mental health (probably everyone's). I think that if you as all of the people that used the eno river and it's parks as a refuge during the pandemic that let them be outside in nature and burnish their mental well being, they would tell you the same as I will now. Do not go through with this plan to develop, if you do you will be doing a lot of harm to a lot of peoples lives and to the natural communities that make the river so wonderful. Thanks for your time. Please consider the non destructive path.
