Comment
The environmental concerns about the Westpoint project --the risks to water quality, to aquatic species in
the Eno River, to the integrity and beauty of West Point on the Eno --should be enough enough to stop
this project.
But the greatest risk is the terrible standard this establishes for development along a valuable,
environmentally sensitive waterway. A residential project with this level of density should not be allowed
in such a sensitive waterway and popular destination within the City of Durham. The Eno River and
West Point on the Eno are among Durham's most appealing destinations.
urge you to halt this project and avoid lowering NC's regional standards concerning development near
sensitive waterways and parks.
