This project will do nothing except reverse the immense progress that has been achieved in reviving the Eno
River. Yes, we need more housing in Durham. But not here! This housing development will certainly detract from
the lovely Wespoint on the Eno Park; who walking there would want to look up at high -density townhouses? No
one! This is an attack on our best efforts, on our greatest natural area in Durham county! We have come too far
to default on the promises we made to keep this land, this keystone ecosystem, pristine!
Benefits of this project: perpetuating the flawed system of capitalism (paying the developer), more housing
Detriments of this project: disastrous traffic problems, reduced privacy for Argonne Hills residents, reduced
loveliness of the city park, keystone ecosystem wiped out, loss of biodiversity, carbon emissions from clearing,
blasting, and building, loud noises from clearing, blasting, and building, more flooding, erosion, and pollution,
reversion of river revival
It's clear that the cons outweigh the pros. We should not be putting this delicate ecosystem in jeopardy so we
can pay a developer. Let them find somewhere else to build.
