Comment The lasting environmental impact of this proposed development is destructive to the Eno and all those who rely on Falls Lake reservoir for clean drinking water. Durham has longtime committed to protecting Falls Lake and as a Durham citizen I expect this to continue. "The City of Durham has always understood the need to protect city streams and downstream resources like Jordan Lake and Falls Lake. The city has had development requirements to protect stream buffers and to treat stormwater runoff since the early 1980s. Additional requirements specifically targeting nutrients began in 2002. In addition, proactive upgrades costing approximately $48 million have been made to the North Durham Wastewater Treatment Plant in the last 15 years. In 2010 the city revised its standards for land development projects that further protect local water quality. "' Today as we attempt to wrangle our climate crisis we have the privilege of science but not time.
