I have heard many opposition reasons for the development adjacent to West Point on the Eno and agree with
many of them, especially the threat to our clean water sources and wildlife residing in this natural preserve, but
one that resonates is the threat to the quality of the adjacent property of West Point on the Eno a historic
landmark. As a professional working in architecture, I understand the impact that these developments have on
the quality of outdoor space adjacent to their location. Not only runoff and environmental effects, but noise,
traffic, and other negative impacts. I strongly urge the department to revise the structure in which this project
gets approved and reviewed as it IS in close proximity to a historic landmark. This project should absolutely
receive public input and should be reviewed under the lens of having a great possibility of having a negative
impact on one of the finest natural reserves that Durham has to offer.
