The protection of our waterways and natural lands should be considered more important than building
developments to support the influx of people moving to Durham. If we do not preserve these areas, we are
illustrating to ourselves and future generations that we were short-sighted. These resources cannot be replaced
once we have taken them away for quick profit and infrastructure. They are important for the mental and physical
well being of the citizens of Durham, not to mention the ecological communities that have found refuge in our
parks and waterways. Please think about the lives you will impact before making this decision. Thank you.
