There are very few remaining old growth forests and wetlands this close to the city center, removing these trees
would have a huge negative impact on the city. The water flowing into falls lake is already highly polluted and this
project would worsen that problem. There are many other places in Durham where houses can be built that don't
destroy a valuable ecosystem.
