Having grown up near the Eno and spent countless hours hiking along it, swimming in it and generally enjoying
the natural setting and wildlife, I'm very disturbed by this project. Durham should be protecting its remaining wild
spaces as much as possible and carefully considering any clearcutting and development in currently
undeveloped areas. This particular area is a vital home to wildlife and closely borders the park and its natural
areas. We should be doing no development there at all, but especially not one of the scale and environmental
impact this one is proposing. Durham needs more density and development of already cleared areas, not
clearcutting previously natural areas. The damage this will do to the Eno River watershed and the surrounding
areas will be immense and cannot be allowed to proceed.
