Comment I have been a Durham resident all my life and have spent a lot of my childhood at west point at the eno. I remember the cross country meets I had there, the eno festival, hanging out with friends, etc. The problem isn't just my emotional attachment to the place but the importance this natural body of water has not only on durham but also on where this river connects us to other cities in North Carolina. These forests are not only important carbon sinks but also help prevent mudslides and serious flooding to happens. There has been flooding that has happened before in Durham where the eno river has played an integral part in helping the surrounding neighborhoods. I think it's environmentally irresponsible to allow a person to take down these trees to build another house and gentrify the area.
