As a supporter of ecological and social accountability towards how our watersheds are affected by profit minded
developments. I am exhausted beyond repair of developers being given carte blanch to land and water without
the consent of the land and water, without Indigenous consent, without consent towards Afro -indigenous
ancestors and their burial grounds, only to continue the model of profiting off of and harming stolen lands. We as
adults and our children are in great need of Free, prior and informed consent from Native leaders before land is
re -colonized via gentrifying processes. We, are exhausted, of seeing all sacred land and streams turned for
profit, over and over and over again. We are exhausted of housing developments that don't account for the
climate crisis. We are exhausted. Quoting Maya Angelou, "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when
you know better, do better" We must do better.
