I am strongly opposed to the Westpoint development. Eno River State Park was the first place I went hiking
when I moved to North Carolina. It has been a place of peace and serenity for myself and many other people in
the Triangle. I think it's an absolute horror that anyone would even think of developing near it, especially to
develop one mile of dense, residential buildings. It is against the public interest and a hearing should be held on
this issue. The decision to approve this application was arbitrary and capricious because the granting body failed
to take into account the project's impact on the water quality of the Eno River, it's impact on the park itself, and
the value the park has to the residents of Durham. I have waded into the Eno and witnessed many others do so
in the hottest months of the summer, and my approving this project, you are risking their safety and taking away
a special place for a lot of people. Please do not move forward with this project; it is not in the interest of the
public.
