Information provided in this letter report includes:  Analytical monitoring requirements summary (Table 1);  Influent and effluent analytical results summary (Tables 2 and 3);  Monitoring well analytical results summary (Table 4);  Groundwater monitoring locations and water levels (Figure 1);  Laboratory analytical reports (Attachment 1), and  Completed copies of NCDEQ Division of Water Resources GW-59 Forms (Attachment 2). The treatment system was inspected monthly, and influent and effluent samples were collected semi-annually (June 28, 2021 and December 2, 2021) in accordance with the permit. These results are summarized in Tables 2 and 3. The treatment system performed as designed during 2021 and experienced minimal downtime. The system operates 24 hours per day and a total of 797,680 gallons (based upon the monthly inspection logs dated between December 4, 2020 to December 3, 2021) of groundwater were treated. 2021 Annual Report – Groundwater Remediation Permit No. WI0600231 Aberdeen Pesticide Dumps Site – Route 211 Area Aberdeen, North Carolina Page 2 P:\Syngenta.1053\04.02. The treatment system removal efficiency was greater than 95% (see Tables 2 and 3). Pumping of extraction well RT-PW-01 continues to fulfill the closed-loop requirement of the Site Groundwater Remediation Permit. Two sidegradient wells, MW-2 (05-MW- 01) and MW-3 (RT-MW-05), and one upgradient well, MW-1 (RT-MW-12), were sampled on December 2, 2021 and analyzed for SW-846 8081A pesticides. Analytical results are summarized in Table 4. Water levels were collected on December 2, 2021 and are shown of Figure 1. Copies of the treatment system influent and effluent analytical reports and the MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3 analytical report are included with the completed GW-59 forms provided as attachments. Information provided in this submittal is intended to fulfill the annual reporting requirement described in Part V of the Site Groundwater Remediation Permit WI0600231 issued December 7, 2021. Data qualifiers are applied to note exceptions. Noncompliant quality control (QC) is further explained in narrative comments. · QC results that exceed the upper limits and are associated with non-detect samples are qualified but further narration is not required since the bias is high and does not change a non-detect result. Further narration is also not required with QC blank detection when the associated sample concentration is non-detect or more than ten times the level in the blank. · Matrix QC may not be reported if insufficient sample or site-specific QC samples were not submitted. In these situations, to demonstrate precision and accuracy at a batch level, a LCS/LCSD is performed, unless otherwise specified in the method. · Surrogate and/or isotope dilution analyte recoveries (if applicable) which are outside of the QC window are confirmed unless attributed to a dilution or otherwise noted in the narrative. Regulated compliance samples (e.g. SDWA, NPDES) must comply with the associated agency requirements/permits. Measurement uncertainty values, as applicable, are available upon request. Test results relate only to the sample tested. Clients should be aware that a critical step in a chemical or microbiological analysis is the collection of the sample. Unless the sample analyzed is truly representative of the bulk of material involved, the test results will be meaningless. Data qualifiers are applied to note exceptions. Noncompliant quality control (QC) is further explained in narrative comments. · QC results that exceed the upper limits and are associated with non-detect samples are qualified but further narration is not required since the bias is high and does not change a non-detect result. Further narration is also not required with QC blank detection when the associated sample concentration is non-detect or more than ten times the level in the blank. · Matrix QC may not be reported if insufficient sample or site-specific QC samples were not submitted. In these situations, to demonstrate precision and accuracy at a batch level, a LCS/LCSD is performed, unless otherwise specified in the method. · Surrogate and/or isotope dilution analyte recoveries (if applicable) which are outside of the QC window are confirmed unless attributed to a dilution or otherwise noted in the narrative. Regulated compliance samples (e.g. SDWA, NPDES) must comply with the associated agency requirements/permits. Measurement uncertainty values, as applicable, are available upon request. Test results relate only to the sample tested. Clients should be aware that a critical step in a chemical or microbiological analysis is the collection of the sample. Unless the sample analyzed is truly representative of the bulk of material involved, the test results will be meaningless. If you have questions regarding the proper techniques of collecting samples, please contact us. We cannot be held responsible for sample integrity, however, unless sampling has been performed by a member of our staff. Times are local to the area of activity.
