Renee Hartis foot shopping mall on the endangered Carolina Heelsplitter Mussel and other rare and
Thelma Privette endangered aquatic species in Goose Creek. This mall is to be built on either bank of the
Gary Sides Goose Creek, at its headwaters. Because the proposed project is likely to have a significant
Town Manager: adverse effect upon water quality in the Goose Creek that could eliminate rare and

Carolina Heelsplitter Mussel. We have cooperated to limit development in certain areas of
Town Planners: the county (which included Lawyers Road in Stallings) to protect the Carolina Heelsplitter
Tammy Heck Mussel. We are very concerned that the same environmental protections placed upon Union
tammvit(c~atlteLnet County will not be required in Mecklenburg County or upon this project. For these reasons,
Jason Mayo we request that the NCDENR, Division of Water Quality, require General Growth Properties
iasonmayo(a~alltel.net and Childress Klein Properties to submit a formal application for Individual Water Quality
Certification so as to prevent significant adverse impacts to the water quality of the Goose
Code Enforcement officer : Creek from the direct and indirect effect of this project.
