Coddle Creek is classified as Class C waters in the Yadkin -Pee Dee River Basin. The current NPDES Permit was issued on May 1, 2019 and expires on November 30, 2023. Theatment facility consist of: - 2 Settling lagoons - Dechlorination with Calcium Thiosulfate - Flow measurment with 90 degree V-notch weir and ultra sonic measurment device. Review of 12-month compliance history for calendar year of 2021 found only one violation for Late/Missing DMR for the month of 6-2021. A Notice of Violition was issued for the Late/Missing DMR violation Tracking Number NOV-2021-LR-0082. The subject facility had reported to the Mooresville Regional Office issues with flow meter prior to this compliance inspection. A new flow meter was installed and calibrated on February 21, 2022. For a time there was no measurment of flows until the meter was replaced. It is therefore recommended that a staff gauge be added to V-notch weir so manual readings may be taken in the event of meter failure and/or as a check against flow meter.
