Re: Permit Application for the proposed Sasser/Carriker Site in Union County
DWQ No. 04-1607 for TIP No. R-2123AC, BB, and CC
Dear Mr. Mickey:
,~
~U, <..~,
Thank you for the opportunity to visit the proposed Sasser/Carriker mitigation site on Thursday, October
7, 2004. Based on the field visit and the preliminary application review, additional information should be
provided for the proposed project. The following information should be provided:
• The permit application for the mitigation plan does not have a conservation easement. A
conservation easement should be provided to DWQ as soon as possible.
• The restoration plan does not show the location of all 1•estoration structures. A plan view of the
proposed stream should be provided with station numb~rs that describe what and where each
structure will be. Pictures of each location should be provided with the plan view.
Therefore, pursuant to 15A NCAC 2H .0507(a)(5), we will have to place the permit application on hold
until we are supplied the necessary information. Furthermore, until the information is received by the NC
Division of Water Quality, we request (by copy of this letter) that the US Army Corps of Engineers place
the permit application on hold.
Hopefully, we can work together to expedite the processing of your permit application. If you have any
questions or require additional information, please contact Brian Wrenn at 919-733-5715.
Sin y,
