Hannah, Brad, and Stephen,
I just found out that there was a sewer force main rupture in Shallotte, NC. Initial reports indicate
that 14,000 gallons were lost into the street which likely found it’s way down through the storm
drains out from our project. The resident engineer’s office is investigating the incident with the
Town of Shallotte and is putting together a report which I will then forward on to you. It sounds like
the location of the rupture was outside of the U-5788 Wall St. project limits but we are not sure if
the rupture could have been linked to the project in anyway due to changes in pressure from the
sewer line installation performed a few weeks ago or from vibrations with the ongoing paving. I am
sending Sophia down there this afternoon to get some photos and will forward on the additional
reports that I receive.
