Division of Water Resources' Central and Regional staff has reviewed the application package received
August 23, 2021 and the subsequent additional information package received December 17, 2021.
However, additional information is required before the review may be completed. Please address the below
item no later than the close of business on April 4, 2022.
➢ The partial hydraulic profile calculations show that the minimum velocity requirements
were not met. As indicated by the Engineer, these minimum requirements are to prevent
grit deposition in the channel prior to the screen. The provided calculations were for peak
flow conditions which indicates that there is not a flow condition that would allow for re -
suspension of the deposited solids within the channel. Please provide clarification on the
hydraulics for the proposed modification and additional information from the Engineer
regarding what is proposed to address grit deposition concerns.
Please be aware that you are responsible for meeting all requirements set forth in North Carolina rules and
regulations. Any oversights that occurred in the review of the subject application package are still the
Applicant's responsibility. In addition, any omissions made in responding to the outstanding item listed
above, or failure to provide the additional information on or before the above requested date may result in
your application being returned as incomplete.
