As of September 6th,Tony West is no longer ORC of the WWTP of Old Fort and the pretreatment program.
I Josh Cagle took over these responsibilities at that time. Please remove Tony West off the contacts list
and add Josh Cagle as pretreatment main contact. MY email address is [e-mail]. The town
of Old Fort has two breweries (Hillman Beer and Whaley Farm Brewery) on a pretreatment permit
program.Whaley Farm Brewery is not online yet,therefore it is not being monitored as of now. Hillman's
permit was revised June 1st 2021, changing their BOD monthly average from 542 LB/DAY to 404 LB/DAY.
Hillmans has one discharge point.POTW is responsible for the sampling and inspection process. The Town
of Old Fort is the POTW enforcement. When examining the sampling records, we realized Hillman Beer
had a BOD limit exceedance the month of August 2021. The recorded values were 854.85 LB/DAY and
their limit was 404 LB/DAY. No notice of deficiency or notice of violation was given. This incident was
prior to my employment with the Town of Old Fort. Hillman Beer was in compliance every month of 2021
other than August. Overall Hillman Beer has performed very well.
