OK, take the soil you have now, in the buffer, that can be spread how you see fit, and the wall extended. The lake is down
two feet. So the actual full pond swings back from the existing water line. Measure vertical up 2 ft at the water edge, then
run a line horizontal from that point and where it hits the yard, that is where full pond actually is. I imagine that the soil is
probably in the lake boundary. Do not add anymore soil. So with the current soil you can 1) find the lake boundary and
build the wall to the current fill or 2) feather out the soil till it blends with the existing topography and then cover with a
natural matt to hold the soil in place and seed.

Alan,
Thank you for taking the time to discuss my shoreline issue with me this morning. Here are two
photos of the area. The existing wall is about 25' long and coming apart. You can see how the lot
slopes down to lake level on the right. I would like to build a new wooden wall (treated 8x8's)
extending further to the right and curving in front of the silt fence you see, so the total length of
the wall from the pier would be about 45 -50'. Would that be too much back -fill? I would
appreciate your thoughts? Options?
