Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua) offers the following response to the above -referenced Notice of
Violation which was issued for a self -reported Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) 5-Day report on December
10, 2021.
Aqua's Response:
Investigative efforts show an excessive amount of grease entering the collection system. Grease
created a clog in the sewer main and caused a manhole to overflow. Aqua is putting this collection
system on a biannual jetting schedule instead of a yearly schedule while we investigate longer term
solutions. The sewer main was last cleaned in March of 2021. The appropriate FOG educational
notice is distributed to all customers in March and September of each year.
