Farm 35101 is utilizing coastal bermuda hay as a receiving crop for swine effluent fertilizer on
the spray fields H11A, H11B, H12A, and H12B. These fields were sprigged with coastal bermuda
this spring. Growing conditions have been acceptable to produce an adequate crop from these
spray fields.
Each one of these fields received swine effluent applications on 10/4/2021. Amounts of these
applications did not exceed 10.50 pounds on any one field. These applications were made just 4
days past the ending of the application window on bermuda hay. Based on the growing
conditions of these season and the warm weather we have experienced past the date of
September 30, 2021 these applications should be applied to bermuda hay. The bermuda was
capable of utilizing this nitrogen due to good growing conditions and optimum growth through
the month of October.
Due to these conditions there is no need for a small grain crop to be planted. The coastal
bermuda had optimum growing conditions to utilize the applied Nitrogen without planting a
small grain crop.
