Hey Jamey,
Show vigor information on the cvs field data sheets where the rest of the data is recorded.
Believe it or not I actually do look at that information. Begin including it on next years report
and so on. Thanks for responding about plot 9.
Thanks
Katie

Hey Katie,
On the two comments, would you like us to respond in next years monitoring report, in an official
memo as soon as possible? Or within this email?
1. Vigor: Generally we collect it in the field but really only notate if Vigor is bad. Do you have an
example of how you want this reported to you in monitoring reports? We will make sure to
collect it this year to get to how you want it reported. Unless it is just a general note in the
overall paragraph on the monitoring conditions. We could add that easily.
2. Plot 9, there are several things that make this plot more likely to have some issues, 1) there
are some larger trees in the area that do allow this area to be shaded a little more than others
so the trees may take longer to get taller, 2) the area is surprising wet with Juncus so it is
possible some of the trees may also take a little more time to get taller, 3) the species in the
plot are a lot of oak which in general take a little longer to grow as well and 4) there were
several sweet gum and pine volunteers in this area that we could consider doing some
thinning this year and finally 5) this plot and around this plot did have some replanting last
year so it is possible that some of the trees are just a year behind and will leap in the next
yea r.
We will take all of these things into consideration and will plan to do some maintenance actions
within this plot to ensure it has the best chance of meeting height requirements. But generally the
trees are atleast surviving in this area and may just take an extra year to grow.
Thanks!
Jamey

Hey Jamey,
DWR has reviewed the Year 3 Monitoring Report for the Meadow Spring Buffer/Nutrient Offset
site. Comments on the report are provided as follows:
1. Vigor data is supposed to be included in the reports but was not provided in the Year 3
report. Include vigor in all future monitoring report data.
2. Plot #9 data reveals very short heights on planted stems in comparison to the rest of the
vegetative data of other plots. Is there a factor to consider here that may need to be
addressed?
Please respond to the items above within a timely manner. By copy of this correspondence, the
Meadow Spring Site (DWR ID# 2016-098Ov2) Year 3 Monitoring Report is approved.
DWR authorizes a 20% reduction in the current bond amount of $80,000 for Bond# 9332404.
Thank you,
katie
