To whom it may concern,
This letter is to notate a formal request for our composite sampler requirement at Linville
Falls. We have and will continue to collect the effluent samples as a composite. The only
qualification we cannot make work is the flow proportional requirement. We brought in a
specialist to determine how this could be accomplished. The distance to the composite sampler
from the flow meter is too significant to get a true impulse read. We have checked into installing
a box closer to the flow meter for collection but, with the force from the effluent pumps this was
not feasible.
Therefore, we respectfully request that the flow proportional composite sample
requirement be acceptable as time composite samples. This being said, an allotment will be
collected each hour for 24 hours to encompass a full day sampling event. We are requesting this
is acceptable with a written statement.
