For the Discharge of Sewage,
Industrial Wastes, or Other Wastes
In accordance with the provisions of Article 21 of Chapter 143,
General Statutes of North Carolina as amended, and other applicable
Laws, Rules and Regulations
PERMISSION IS HEREBY GRANTED TO
SUNNYVIEW CAR WASH
FOR THE
operation of a 720 GPD septic tank ground absorption wastewater
treatment system to serve Sunnyview Car Wash in Polk County, N.C.;
and pursuant to the application received on February 8, 1991, and in
conformity with the project plans, specifications, and other
supporting data, subsequently filed with the Department of
Environment, Health, and Natural Resources and considered a part of
this Permit.
This Permit shall be effective from the date of its issuance
until rescinded, and shall be subject to the following specified
conditions and limitations:
1. Flow limiting devices shall be used on all facilities
at the Sunnyview Car Wash .
2. This Permit is effective only with respect to the
nature and volume of wastes described in the
application and other supporting data.
3. This Permit shall become voidable in event of failure
of the soil to adequately absorb the wastes, and may
be rescinded unless the facilities are installed,
maintained, and operated in a manner which will protect
the assigned water quality standards of the surface
and ground waters.
4. This facility shall not discharge directly to the surface
waters of the State.

5.. In the event the facilities fail to perform satis-
factorily, the owners shall take such immediate
corrective action as may be required by this Depart-
ment.
6. This Permit is not transferable.
7. The method for final disposal of screenings, scum,
and sludges from these facilities shall not result
in any contamination of the surface or ground waters
of this State.
8. This disposal system shall be abandoned immediately
upon the availability of a regional sewer system..
9. Any monitoring deemed necessary by the Division of
Environmental Management to insure the protection of
ground waters will be established and an acceptable
sampling and reporting program shall be followed.
10. The approved nitrification field site must not be
disturbed, regraded, or substituted without written
permission from the Asheville Regional Supervisor.
11. The cleaning of engines is prohibited. Appropriate signs
shall be posted -at the car wash advising patrons that
engines shall not be cleaned.
12. Oil drained from engine crankcases, antifreeze or
degreasing solvent wastes shall not be discharged into the
disposal system.
