single 185 gallons per minute well; liquid sodium hypochlorite disinfection system; two
(2) each, circular 6 ft.-diameter greensand filters; potable water air -stripper system; one
(1) flow meter for filter -backwash discharge; two (2) each, 8 ft. X 36 ft. wastewater
drying beds and tablet dechiorinator. Discharge is to a roadway ditch, an UT to Turkey
Creek classified as C, Nutrient Sensitive Waters within the Neuse River Basin.
3. At the time of inspection, all units were operational. There were some solids in basin #
1 and none in basin # 2. There was no discharge. Backwash occurs once a week.
4. Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR's) for the review period January 2018 through
December 2022 were reviewed for compliance with permit limit and monitoring
requirements. The following were noted. Quarterly monitoring violation for Total
Manganese for December 2018 and September 2019; Semi -Annual monitoring violation
