The existing 3 — 72" corrugated metal pipe culvert on the Threemile
Branch at Country Club Dr NE in Concord, NC has insufficient
hydraulic capacity and is in need of replacement. This project will
replace the existing corrugated metal pipes with two precast concrete
box culverts. The proposed main culvert is a 13-ft wide,11-ft high box
culvert, buried 12", creating a 13' low flow channel. The proposed
overflow culvert is a 12-ft wide,11-ft high box culvert, buried 24".
Culvert boxes will be skewed to minimize their length. Stream grading
and rip rap protection on excavated channel banks will be minimized.
Temporary impacted areas during construction will be regraded to pre -
construction contours and re -vegetated with native species. It is our
intention to apply for coverage under NWP03 — Maintenance.
Proposed new permanent impact will be kept under 150 ft.
