ECS Southeast, LLP (ECS) is pleased to provide our project information to initiate the North Carolina
State Historic Preservation Office's (SHPO) review of projects subject to applicable federal and/or state
cultural resources protection laws, including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and
North Carolina General Statute 121-12(a).
PROJECT INFORMATION
The Project Study Area (PSA) is approximately 76 acres and is located at 910 Grove Street in China
Grove, Rowan County, North Carolina. The subject property is identified as Rowan County Parcel
Identification Numbers (PINS) 12401090000001, 1240190000002, 124061, 124102, and 124046. Based
on our review of available aerial photographs, the site is currently undeveloped with grass land and
wooded areas. Based on our review of the provided site plan, the project will consist of 92 townhome
units and 148 single-family residential lots and associated paved roadway areas.
Based on the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Topographic Map, a tributary is depicted onsite.
During our review of the NCSHPO On -Line GIS Database, no historic resources were identified within the
PSA. Several resources were depicted to the west of the site within 1000 feet and it identified as the
China Grove Historic District (NCHPO HPOWEB figure). If you have questions or need additional
