Site inspecion was conducted by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office on February 8, 2022. Inspection was
in response to a self reported sediment loss on February 4, 2022. Travis Henley and James Hutchinson were present
during the inspection. The following are items that need urgent attention:
- Station 24+50 LT L - 57 stone needs to be removed from the JS. Check needs maintenance.
- Station 24+00 LT L - Check above small unnamed tributary needs maintenance.
- Station 479+00 RT Y - Slopes around junction box need cover. Noted in last inspection on January 12.
- Station 463+00 - 469+00 LT Y - Groundcover needed on slopes per NPDES requirements. This has been noted in
additional inspections dating back to October 22, 2021.
- Station 465+00 LT Y - Slope failure. Sediment observed past measures and in stream. Sediment needs to be removed
and measures need to be maintained.
- Station 467+00 LT Y - Sediment observed in the JS. Measure needs maintenance and sediment needs to be removed
from the stream.
Please let me know when these items are complete. I will plan a follow up inspection next week.
