Tracking No. NOV-2022-DV-0013
City of Belmont - WQCS00046
Dear Mr. Basinger,
The City of Belmont is in receipt of the above NOV and as required by your letter, our response
to the violations are as follows:
Incident # 202102281- This overflow incident at 1711 Cardinal Court was the result of a gravity
main root blockage.
On behalf of the City of Belmont, city crews responded to reports of the overflow and
immediately began to inspect and clear the 8-inch pipe. Crews utilized a Sewer/Vacuum truck to
clean up the overflow and lime was applied to the affected area. City crews jetted the main and
cleared the root ball so flow could resume.
The City of Belmont worked diligently to clear the pipe and reduce the overflow volume to the
best of its ability. There was no expected impact on wildlife or public health stemming from this
overflow. This portion of sewer main is part of City of Belmont's Capital Improvements
Program and is awaiting appropriation by the City Council.
Sincer
