To whom it may concern:
Please find the enclosed November Stormwater Discharge Outfall (SD) #001 and #002 form
for the Daimler Trucks NA, LLC - Mount Holly Truck Manufacturing Plant (TMP). The stormwater
samples were collected on November 4, 2021. Results from this sampling event show an
exceedance of the following parameter(s) at or above the corresponding benchmark:
• SDO #001 (11-04-2021) -- COD - 220 mg/L (Benchmark 120 mg/L)
• SDO #001 (11-04-2021) - Zinc - 0.230 mg/L (Benchmark 0.126 mg/L)
Daimler remains in Tier 3 for Zinc and enters Tier 2 for C.Q.D. at SDO #001. The Facility
remains in Tier 3 for Zinc and Copper at SDO #002. Shield will continue to perform monthly
sampling per Tier requirements until instructed to decrease sampling frequency by Daimler.
Action Plans were accepted on October 26, 2021 and DTNA continues to make efforts to
completion of these line items.

Shield Project No.1140109-08
Dear Mr. Quarry:
Shield Engineering, Inc. (Shield) successfully collected monthly stormwater samples for Stormwater
Discharge Gutfalls (SDO) #001 and #002 at the Mount Holly facility for the month of November 2021.
During the November 411 sampling event, Shield's field measurements of pH were 7.8 and 7.3, at SDO
#001 and SDO #002, respectively. The analytical results of the stormwater samples collected during the
qualifying storm event are attached to this cover letter. In addition, the Qualitative Monitoring Report
(QMR) forms and the partially completed Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) form are attached to this
cover letter. The Qualitative Monitoring Reports note the presence of an intermittent sulfur -like odor at
SDO #001. Analytical results from the sampling event show an exceedance of C.O.D. and Zinc at SDO
#001.
The laboratory report notes that the TSS samples for both SDOs "were analyzed outside of analytical
holding time for TSS due to laboratory error". Shield has contacted the laboratory and requested that your
facility not be charged for these analyses.
Daimler remains in Tier 3 for Zinc and enters Tier 2 for C.O.D. at SDO 4001. The Facility remains in Tier
3 for Zinc and Copper at SDO # 002. Shield will continue to perform monthly sampling per Tier 3
requirements until instructed to decrease sampling frequency by Daimler. Shield greatly appreciates the
opportunity to provide environmental services to Daimler Trucks, North America. If you have any questions
in reference to this document or require further information, please feel free to contact either of the
undersigned at (704) 394-6913.
