Subject: Flows Estimates on the Linville River
Dear Mr. Wiggers:
Per your recent request, I have attached flow estimates for
sites on the Linville River. Two of the sites are located on the
Newland quadrangle while one is at the western end of the
Grandfather Mountain quadrangle. You should note that the drainage
areas are in units of square miles and all flows are in units of
cubic feet per second (cfs) .
The Division of Environmental Management (DEM) did not have
any flow estimates for the West Fork of the Linville River. If you
need flow estimates on this stream or further estimates on the Lin-
ville River, you may contact Rufus Allen or Amy Fogleman of the
U.S. Geological Survey in Raleigh, NC. Rufus and Amy can be
reached at (919) 856-4791.
If you have any questions, please call me at (919)733-5083.
Sincerely,
21,6. c atapale_

[al Estimate is based on records collected at or near the site, and the rangyae
indicates approximate interval in which the actual value may lie.
[bl Estimate is based entirely on runoff observed at nearby streams and
therefore no degree of reliability is attached.
[c] The error in this estimate probably exceeds accuracy cf the method used
and therefore only a range is given.
