Subject: Recent Spill at Axalta Coating Systems U.S.A., LLC (NCGNE0758)
Good afternoon,
I hope all is well. I recently spoke with Natalie Sternis (336-703-7230) regarding an inadvertent chemical release at Axalta
Coating Systems U.S.A., LLC (NCGNE0758). Based upon the conversation, it was estimated that around 1200 to 1400-
gallons of a water -based paint (Latex Primer) were released into the nearby storm sewer system. According to the City
of High Point (Robbie Baker; 336-883-3455), measures were taken to prevent the spill from discharging to nearby
streams. Would this be a violation of their No Exposure permit? If so, would they need to apply for an Industrial
Stormwater permit? I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you,
Blane Houck, P.G.
