Subject: Stonegate DEvelopment stream Restoration - Watauga Co. (14 -0157)
Hey Sue:
I have looked at this plan (not for mitigation). This is part of the ongoing restoration of Boone Creek in Boone. They are
daylighting the stream and planting the streambanks.
A few things. Boone Creek is C; Tr. Do we comment on the trout moratorium?
Also, their specification for erosion control seeding include Korean lespedeza (late winter /early spring) and tall fescue
(supper). If they want the trees and shrubs they are planting to have the best chance of survival, they should eliminate
those two species, as they cause lots of problems on our mitigation sites. They should be able to get by with rye and
millet.
