Specialist with Progress Energy called the FRO today (9:00 a.m.) to report that there were trees downed by a tornado that went through the area Saturday March 28th. Trees downed are both across the containment dike of the cooling water pond and into Jacobs Swamp. Reportedly there are NO trees with root balls on the containment dike and there is no danger of the dike breaking. Their plans are to cut the trees and pull the debris out of the water (the creek and the cooling water pond) leaving the root balls. I suggested that they call and notify the COE just totell them what they are doing. Robin can be reached at (919) 546-3962 A copy of this went to the Weatherspoon Inspection File. 1 of 1 4/1/2009 9:53 AM
