This is from approximately 2 sustained outages per year, lasting about 1 hour each. The most frequent outage cause in this area is fallen trees or tree limbs. I obtained this information from Union Power Cooperative's outage records. This does include the ice storm in December of 2002 (the main line here was shown to be out for approximately 1 hour). However, the extreme storm that affected the area in January of 2000 is not factored into this (records for that event are very rough at best).
