This e-mail is in response to the NCDOT request received by DCM on January 19, 2022. The request is to
extend in water work 2 weeks into the fisheries moratorium on the US 70 Havelock Bypass Project (T.I.P. R-
1015) in Craven County. In accordance with comments received from the N.C. Wildlife Resources
Commission (WRC) on January 20, 2022, DCM has determined that the project remains consistent with the
North Carolina Coastal Management Program. This email will serve as official notification from DCM to allow
the NCDOT contractor to perform in-water work for a two week period (until March 2, 2022) as a deviation
from the standard in-water work moratorium start date of February 15.
