Contract Operator has contacted Envirochem with concerns regarding sampling of the
effluent for Dissolved Oxygen. Due to the long cycle periods between discharging, a
sample pulled immediately upon operating the effluent pumps may in certain cases
have a lower than average dissolved oxygen. Samples should be pulled after the pump
has been discharging fully for approx. 30sec to 1 minute. Sampling protocols have
been adjusted. There have been no issues since.
Ammonia Nitrogen (NH3) samples continue to be erratic, Samples are being gathered
from upstream manholes in the collection system to ensure cleaning products or other
contaminants are not impacting the system's ability to effectively reduce the ammonia
nitrogen in the plant effluent. Additional monthly effluent NH3 samples are now being
collected to help identify any specific trends in the system.
