5. Describe the existing land use or condition of the site at the time of this application: *
This is zoned residential and undeveloped. Waterfront Harbor is a new
subdivision. Only 2 of the 32 lots are currently under construction. There
is currently not structures on this specific lot. The lot is mildly forested,
but many of the trees are dead or have fallen down.
Residential, undeveloped, etc.
6. Property Size .62
Acres
7. Describe proposed work (include discussion as to how hardening of shoreline has been avoided, or
why it is necessary):
Shoreline stabilization is critically important to this lot as being an access
point to the main channel, there is significant water traffic. This is causing
the land to be undercut allowing sediment to runoff into the river. Several
of trees have fallen into the lake because of the water cutting out the soil
underneath.
The plan is to stabilize the shoreline from the land. An excavator will be
used to angle the slope to allow for stabilization. A filter material will be
utilized to prevent underlying soil from piping through the rip rap. Rip rap
will be added for stabilization along the entire shoreline. This should
prevent additional sediment from flowing into the river. The plan is to
place rip rap a couple of feet below and above the normal water level.
8. How will the work be done?* ✓ From Land
From Water
9. Total amount of disturbance below the normal pool lake level/ normal water level: *
(including all clearing, back fill, excavation, rip rap, retaining walls, etc.)
Approximately 600
square feet
10. Total amount of disturbance above the normal pool lake level/ normal water level and 50 feet land-
ward: *
(including all clearing, back fill, excavation, rip rap, retaining walls, etc.)
Approximately
1000
square feet
11. Please describe the vegetation above the normal pool lake level/ normal water level and 50 feet landward to
be impacted:*
(number of trees, for instance)
It is a mildly wooded lot, but approximately half the trees that would need
to be removed have already fallen (storm/undercut footing) or is dead
(believed to be a bug infestation). We want to keep the lot as wooded as
possible and plan to replant many, if not all trees, once the home
construction is complete.
