Please find enclosed a copy of Utility Plan Drawings and a revised Wetland Impact
Summary Sheet for the above-mentioned project. On June 30, 2006 NC Division of
Coastal Management (DCM) issued Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) Major
Development Permit Number 123-06 for the above-mentioned project.
Due to the required movement of an overhead power line located to the south of the
existing bridge, changes in the impacts have occurred. The proposed work bridge will be
shifted to the north to prevent interference between equipment using the work bridge and
the overhead power line. The bridge bents from the work bridge will result in
approximately l Ofl of temporary fill in wetlands. The movement of the overhead power
line will also result in the required hand clearing of 0.633 acres of wetlands on the east
side of the Northeast Cape Fear River. Hand clearing excludes the use of grubbing
equipment. The proposed project will also require the movement of a water line and a
telephone line. The water line and telephone line will be relocated using a directional
bore in jurisdictional areas.
REGULATORY APPROVALS
CAMA: NCDOT requests that the DCM modify the CAMA Major Development Permit
issued on June 30, 2006 to authorize the above mentioned activities.
