I received the 1 annual monitoring report for the Ballahack mitigation bank on January 10, 2014. The only comment I
have regarding the report, is that I do not recommend remedial planting of the site at this time. I would like for GES to
wait till Year 2 before determining if remediation is necessary. If remedial planting has already been planned for this
month, please do not place any plants within the monitoring plots themselves. The goal is to give the site a couple of
years to get started without remedial plantings, to get an understanding of the site’s capability of succeeding on its
own. Planting within the monitoring plots at this time, would provide a misrepresentation of the site as a whole,
considering no plots actually failed the success criteria.
