The Division of Water Resources received the Year 3 Monitoring Report for the above - referenced site,
dated December 2013.
Based on review of the monitoring report, the site generally appears to be appears to be on a trajectory for
success. Both vegetation and hydrology monitoring have indicated that the site is meeting applicable
performance standards.
Invasive species treatment to address privet have been ongoing and are planned to continue. The report
identifies an additional exotic species, Arthraxon hispidus (hairy jointgrass) as not being invasive. While
this species is not listed in the USDA plants database as being a nuisance exotic, the NC Native Plant
Society (http: / /www.ncwildflower.or /ig ndex.php /plant_ galleries /invasives_list) does list this species as a
"Rank 2 — Significant Threat" species. The presence%xtent of this species should be watched closely, and
should be trated if its presence begins negatively affecting planted vegetation.
