As previously stated, some of these areas are listed in the ten-year CIP. A total of over 2,500 Lf of a mixture of 6" and 8" sanitary sewer was replaced in the last six months to mitigate I&I into the sanitary sewer for the Town of Waynesville. As we move forward with the upgrades to the WWTP, the sewer maintenance department will continue to mitigate the I&I issue following the CIP as closely as possible to include other areas of concern as they arise. We will also be addressing I&I into manholes as we discover those areas. In addition, the Town of Waynesville is currently working with Haywood Waterways to pinpoint fecal areas to better identify those sources of I&I.
