General Information: Facility / System Name: Parkton Wastewater Treatment Plant Responsible Entity: Town of Parkton Person in Charge / Contact: Philip J. Schroeder 910-858-3360 Applicable Permit(s): NC0026921 Description of Collection System or Treatment Process: Operation of a 0.2 MGD wastewater treatment facility consisting of a manual car screen, two oxidation ditches operated in parallel treatment trains, two clarifiers with • flow directed to a Parshall flume and flow meter, step-down post aeration, aerated sludge digester with sludge drying beds, and Host chlorination. This facility is located at the Parkton WWTP, on NC SR 1724 Southeast of Parkton in Robeson County. fl, Performance: Text summary of System for Calendar Year 2006: 9 — Monitoring or Reporting Violations 0 — No Sanitary Sewer Overflow 9 — Permit Violation Occurred on Permit Limit Violations During the month of January 2006, the wastewater plant exceeded the flow average of .233mgd. (Monthly Flow limit is .200 mgd.). On the month of February 2006, we exceeded flow limit of .204 mgd. (Monthly -Flow limit is .200 mgd.). During the month of June 2006, 23 exceeded the flow limit of .213 mgd. (Monthly Flow limit is .200 mgd.). During the month of October 2006, we failed the toxicity test. During the month of November 2006 we failed the toxicity test and went over the flow limit of .254 mgd. (Monthly Flow limit is .200 mgd.). During the month of December 2006, we exceed the monthly flow limit of .254 mgd. (Monthly Flow limit is .200 mgd.). Also we failed the toxicity test. The reason that we had high flows during the year is because of a lot of rainfall thand e wastewater treatment plant.oThe the collection system to create higher flows to reason for the failures of the toxicity test was because of high flows and the #2 clarifier has been out of service because of thegear s reducer. ad be back online in January of 2007, The town is g on the gear reducer to be delivered. Also we started de -chlorination in July; and this caused problerns with the failure of the toxicity tests. The Town of Parkton owns our wastewater collections system and the wastewater treatment facility located at NCSR 1724 Southeast of Parkton in Robeson County. A copy of the Town's 2006 performance report can be obtained at the Parkton Town Office, located at 28 W. David Parnell Street. The report will show that during 2006, the Town of Parkton had 9 monitoring or reporting violation, 9 permit violation end 0 sanitary sewers over flow. The public is invited to pick up a copy of this report, or if there are any questions surrounding this 2006 report, to contact the Parkton Town Hall at (910) 858-3360.
