Description of Collection System or Treatment Process:
Operation of a 0.2 MGD wastewater treatment facility consisting of a manual bar screen,
two oxidation ditches operated in parallel treatment trains, two clarifiers with flow directed to a
Partial flume and flow meter, step down post acration, aerated sludge digester with sludge drying
beds, and post chlorination. This facility is located at the Parkton WWTP, on NC SR 1724
southeast of Parkton in Robeson County. The wastewater collection system consists of 2 miles of
gravity flow sewer mains and 1.5 miles of force mains. We have two lift stations that pump
sewer water to different locations through out the collection system. Lift station # 2 pumps sewer
water to the wastewater treatment plant.
II. Performance:

2 — Monitoring or Reporting Violations
0 — No Sanitary Sewer Overflow
2 — Permit Violation Occurred on Permit Limit Violations
During the month of March, our average flow was .253 MGD, the monthly limit is .200 MGD.
During the month of April, our average flow for the month was .239 MGD, the monthly limit is
.200 MGD. In addition for the month of April we failed the toxicity test. The reason for the
overflow for the months of March & April, was due to inflow and infiltration. The Town of
Parkton has applied for a grant to correct this problem.

III. Notification:
Public notice placed in local newspaper summarizing this report and informing the public
that a copy of this report can be obtained at the Parkton Town Office.
IV. Certification
I certify under penalty of law that this report is complete and accurate to the best of my
knowledge. I further certify that this report has been made available to the users or customers
of the named system and that those users have been notified of its availability.

Public Notice
The North Carolina Clean Act of 1999 requires that each owner of operator of any
wastewater treatment plant or wastewater collection system to provide an annual
performance report to its users and customers.
The Town of Parkton owns its wastewater collections system and the wastewater
treatment facility located at NCSR 1724 Southeast of Parkton in Robeson County. A
copy of the Towns 2009 performance report can be obtained at the Parkton Town
Office, located at 28 West David Parnell St.
The report will show that during 2009, the Town of Parkton. had 2 monitoring or
reporting violations, 2 permit violations, and no sanitary sewer over flow.
